Cherished by audiences in North America and Europe not only for the beauty of her tone and stylistic instinct but also for her natural stage presence and dramatic skills. In Europe, Kathleen debuted as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro at L’Opéra de Monté Carlo. Her debut at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden followed, also in Nozze in the production by Johannes Schaaf. Her regular appearances at De Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Ghent include the role of Dorinda in Robert Carsen’s production of Orlando and Iris in Semele. A European audience's favorite, other roles include Belinda, Dido and Aeneas in a production directed by Stephen Lawless, Servilia, Clemenza di Tito and Pamina in Nicolas Hytner's production of Die Zauberflöte.
A principal guest artist in many leading US opera houses, Kathleen sang Nannetta with Los Angeles Opera and made her Lincoln Center debut in Gluck's Orphee et Euridice with L'Opera Francais de New York. At New York City Opera she sang Susanna, Le Nozze di Figaro and Ninette, The Love of Three Oranges. Her frequent collaborations at Dallas Opera include Pamina, Servilia, La Clemenza di Tito and Drusilla, L'Incoronazione di Poppea. She reprised the role of Despina with The Boston Baroque, at Opera Pacific in Costa Mesa and Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro. Her San Francisco Opera debut as Kristina, The Makropulos Case, directed by Lotfi Mansouri, was highly acclaimed and she features in the role on DVD.
A commensurate concert artist of great charm, Kathleen is frequently found on the concert platform with many American and Canadian symphony orchestras, including those of Chicago, Minnesota, Detroit, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Utah, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. A favourite of the Boston Pops Orchestra she has been featured soloist in multiple appearances, including the Holiday Pops tour and in an all-Gershwin program at Symphony Hall in Boston. Other frequent appearances include The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra with whom she recorded the Grammy nominated Telarc performance of Meredith Willson's The Music Man as Marian the Librarian. In recital, she toured the UK with the Aldeburgh Connection of Toronto, appearing at the Aldeburgh Festival with whom she has recorded the Brahms and Schumann Liebeslieder waltzes.

Recent successes include the role of Birdie Hubbard in Pacific Opera Victoria’s production of Mark Blitzstein’s Regina, and the leading role of “Elle” in La Voix Humaine, numerous concert appearances with Detroit Symphony, Boston Pops, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and the National Arts Center, Ottawa.
